Part 2 of my Rania - Style review. See part one here: http://nitsuji.tumblr.com/post/32001608325/ive-liked-rania-since-their-debut-they-really
Yesterday, there was a lot of stuff I couldn’t really comment on, because I had neither translated lyrics nor a live performance to look over. Now that I have both, I am free to continue my review. (Translated lyrics can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMMw7yQe6ys)
(Live performance can be seen above.)
The lyrics: The song’s pretty well written in my opinion. It’s not very complex, but it’s not so simple as to be ridiculous. I was disappointed, though, that both verses and bridges were the same. After seeing the translation for the first verse, I had high expectations for the second. I was happy to see that the breakdown wasn’t just random syllables and “You’re not my style.” I have absolutely no complaints about the English. It was all pronounced perfectly and used in a grammatically correct manner. A huge thumbs up for that.
The live performance: It was a huge relief to see that Saemi actually did sing, even if it was only two repeated words. Rania’s strong point has always been their live vocals, and they didn’t disappoint. Everyone was great. The only complaint I have is that they, as usual, sang over the track. Watching the live performance gave me a much better look at the choreography. I think the choreography matched the feel of the song, not too strenuous but also obviously not as easy as it looks. Very entertaining.
Lyrics: 3.5/5
Live: 4.4/5
Final Verdict: 4.4/5
